Registrants will receive a tote bag designed by musician Sheryl Crow for Whole Foods filled with healthful snack foods and recyclable items to use in and out of the home. In addition, all 5K and Kids Dash participants will receive a T-shirt.

Event organizers expect a few hundred runners, including many first-timers. The event is registered with the Chicago Area Runners Association and the course is certified by USA Track & Field. The cost for the 5K is $25 before April 4 and $30 for day-of registration. In addition to the 5K, a one-mile race will be held, with registration costing $10 before April 4 and $15 on race day.

While adults run, spring-themed activities will be available for children, including an egg hunt and an Easter bunny visit.

A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit Fathers Helping Fathers, a non-profit based in Palatine, Ill. that develops educational classes and development programs that teach men how to become better fathers.
