Registration is now open for the inaugural Minneapolis Marathon on May 31, 2009.
The course will follow a route on both sides of the Mississippi
river all the way to the Minnesota River. The course starts and
finishes in downtown Minneapolis. A finisher’s jacket is included in
the registration price. The jacket is a way to commemorate your
accomplishment and show that you are a “charter” member of the

ordered. But don’t worry, the race just opened for registration. There
will be live entertainment at the post-race party. There is a
seven-hour cut off, 20 water and aid stops (which is the same as the
Chicago Marathon), and two gel stops.

lasts for an hour but the pride of accomplishment lasts a lifetime… oh
and great gear lasts for a decade.”

To encourage more visitors, the Battle of the
States will continue until May 29. The participants from the state with
the most total participants in the Marathon & Half Marathon (other
than Minnesota) each win a Minneapolis Marathon Stainless Steel 750ml
water bottle. For example, say Illinois is the state with the most
registrants with 220. Each of those 220 racers will receive an
inaugural Minneapolis Marathon stainless steel water bottle when they
pick up his/her race packets on May 29 or 30. You can watch Illinois
