The Running Center, NYC’s first and only training facility for runners, announces a new class for women called M.O.D.A., which stands for Michelle Obama Defined Arms.

Coach Mindy Solkin, owner and head coach of The Running Center, came up with the idea when her runners and colleagues started to compliment her toned arms, declaring, “You’ve got Michelle Obama’s arms!”

The 60-minute indoor class meets on Thursday nights at 7 p.m. at The Running Center. Participants will work on strengthening and toning arms using bands, free weights, equipment and one’s own body weight. A complete circuit of exercises to define arms, chest, back and core will incorporate partner exercises too.

Participants need not be a runner to take the class, but runners will benefit from having stronger arms to power up hills and sustain them in the last miles of a longer run or race.
