American 25K record holder Fernando Cabada will face stiff competition from Dan Browne, among others, on the men’s side, as Magdelena Lewy Boulet stands out as the clear women’s favorite.
The Fifth River Bank Run in Grand Rapid’s, MI will host its 16th USA 25K Road Championship May 10th. Both men’s and women’s races will host Olympians and on hand will be one current American 25K record holder.
On the men’s side, 2006 25K National Champion and American Record Holder Fernando Cabada will square off against 2004 Olympian, and 2 time champion, Dan Browne, 2008 USA 10K Road Championship medalist Fasil Bizuneh, and 2008 USA Half Marathon Championship runner-up Jason Lehmkule.
The women’s race features sure favorite and 2008 Olympian Magdelena Lewy Boulet. Others looking to capture their first USA 25K Road Championship are Tera Moody (5th Place 2008 Olympic Marathon Trials) and 2008 25K Championship medalist Michelle Lillenthal.
The race will also host the USA Masters 25K Road Championship. There will be a total of $45,000 on the line between the four national championships, making for high drama on race day.
