The race known for selling out in a matter of minutes will offer an additional 100 entries for charity runners.
As usual, the 2009 edition of the Peachtree Road Race, an Atlanta, GA institution, sold out its entire 55,000 person field within minutes. With over 8,000 entries returned from the initial lottery drawing, the Atlanta Track Club has decided to offer 100 additional entries at $150 each, which will benefit their Kilometer Kids youth running club. Minus the $33 entry fee, the remaining $117 will be tax deductible. an incentive to offer up the extra money to get a bib number and support the charity. No doubt these coveted entries will disappear before the June 15th deadline, just as the regular entries have done for years.
