May 14, 2009 – On June 3, athletes across the nation will lace up their running shoes to take part in the 2009 National Running Day. XTERRA and race director Don Morrison are doing their part by hosting the XTERRA Warwick Park Ruckus Trail Run to promote the sport as a healthy, fun, and accessible form of exercise. Running is a great way for the entire family to enjoy an active, outdoor lifestyle, so all are welcome to attend this event.

The third of five races in the 2009 XTERRA Philly Series, the XTERRA Warwick Park Ruckus Trail Run is a 5 kilometer adventure through the rolling hills, serene woodlands, and sweet single track that define the Philadelphia area. Top finishers will vie for the coveted series points in an effort to finish the season with the highest totals and be crowned an XTERRA Regional Champion.

Winners of the series will be invited to race for free at the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship on September 13 in Bend, Oregon. From there runners will have the opportunity to explore Oahu’s Kualoa Ranch and the pristine Hawaiian landscape that has been the backdrop for major productions such as Jurassic Park, Godzilla and LOST at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 6.
