American Olympic bronze medalist confirmed for Chicago field.
Deena Kastor has declared her intent to run the 2009 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and she is leaving no doubt as to her intentions. Not only will Kastor be looking to win but she says she thinks she can better her own American record (2:19:36) and is aiming to run 2:18 or better. As the 36-year-old begins to reach the end of her peak, it is a perfect time to make a real assault on the American record and try to keep it out Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan’s reach for at least a couple of years.
