Missing Ultramarathoner Found In California Wilderness

Woman currently in serious condition at local hospital.

Missing ultramarathoner Maria “Gina” Natera-Armenta, 34, was found in a ravine in a remote area of the Southern California wilderness late Wednesday. The woman had been missing since she went on 10-hour run with her brother-in-law on Monday.

Natera-Armenta was found approximately 5 miles away from a sheriff’s post by a search helicopter. She was found to be extremely dehydrated and in need of immediate medical assistance. The runner is still in intensive care at a Mission Viejo Hospital.
