Three-time champion will run tune-up half in Birmingham.
The New York Road Runners have confirmed that world record holder, and defending champion, Paula Radcliffe of the UK will race the 2009 ING New York City Marathon. Radcliffe won convincingly in New York this summer at the New York City Half-Marathon, but that has been her only race this year. The world record holder had bunion surgery earlier in the year which caused her to miss most of the 2009 season, including the world championships.
Radcliffe will tune-up for the New York City race with another half marathon, this time in her native country. She will line up for the world half marathon championships in Birmingham in mid-October. The race will give us all a glimpse as to what we may expect out of the Brit in November.
