Still plans to run New York City Marathon.
Marathon world record holder Paula Radcliffe of the UK has withdrawn from the 2009 world half marathon championships due to a case of tonsilitis. She said that she still plans to run at the ING New York City Marathon in November.
This is just another in a long line of illnesses and injuries to keep the Brit from competing at a major championship. Just this year she was held out of the Berlin world championships due to surgery on a bunion.
