NEW ORLEANS, LA - The Rock ‘n’ Roll Mardi Gras Marathon & ½ Marathon has announced that the national sensation rock ‘n’ roll band, Cowboy Mouth, will headline its post-race concert, and platinum-selling Sister Hazel will serve as the band’s opener. The free concert will take place at the City Park finish line festival immediately following the race on Sunday, February 28.

“The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series has established a reputation for offering our runners spectacular post-race concerts, and the headlining acts in New Orleans will certainly continue this tradition,” said the event’s general manager, Elizabeth O’Brien. “Not only will the race participants be excited to hear that we have the two outstanding bands for the finish line festival, but also the local community will be able to enjoy a free show in City Park.”

Originally from New Orleans, rock ‘n’ roll band Cowboy Mouth has released nearly a dozen records, and is regularly featured on TV shows and radio stations throughout the South. Their 1997 single “All For You” hit #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band has toured together for over a decade and recently released its seventh disc of original material titled ‘Take A Bow’.

Local bands can perform for 20,000 runners, joining platinum-selling Sister Hazel at the inagural marathon.
