The venerable Nirvana remains a superb high-mileage trainer that held our testers’ feet firmly in place. Its spartan and deep heel cup gave those who are forefoot runners a smooth transition but left those who land toward the aft of their feet wanting. The underfoot feel from the firm midsole was a noted positive, as the Nirvana’s full-length composite double fan wave warded off fatigue.
