Makau Joins The 2:04 Club

Kenyan Patrick Makau won Sunday’s Rotterdam Marathon in 2:04:47, the fourth-fastest time ever.
A trio of Kenyan runners ran at world-record pace through most of Sunday’s Rotterdam Marathon, but faded just a bit at the end. Second-place finisher Geoffrey Mutai also squeaked under the previous fourth-fastest time ever, at 2:04:54.
Not to be overlooked is American Magdalena Lewy-Boulet’s stellar performance in the women’s race. She finished second behind Aberu Kebede in 2:26:22.
