Race organizers once again anticipate the field will fill up quickly.

The Boston Athletic Association announced today that registration for the 2011 Boston Marathon will open at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 18.

Qualifying standards remain unchanged for the 115th running of this Patriots’ Day classic, and those standards must be met on or after September 20, 2009. Registration fees also remain unchanged at $130 for residents of the United States.

As in past years, the field size will be capped at 26,790 runners, and race organizers expect it will once again fill quickly. The 2010 race reached capacity in just over two months, shutting out many runners who ran qualifying times late in 2009.
