Chelanga Wins NCAA Men’s 10,000

The Liberty University junior is in a class by himself.

Sam Chelanga, a Liberty University junior by way of Kenya, was expected to win the men’s 10,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday, and win he did. The man who set a new NCAA record of 27:08.39 in that event two months ago cruised to victory by 18 seconds with a much slower time of 28:37.40.
