Impressive double for American mile record holder.

Alan Webb took a big step down the comeback trail this past weekend, winning the 1,500 meters in 3:41.16 at the 46th Antwerp Athletics Gala Saturday in Antwerp, Belgium.

Webb came back 15 minutes later in the 5,000 meters, running 14:15 to place ninth. The two races were Webb’s second and third of the summer after opening his season two weeks ago with a 1:52.32 seventh-place finish at a low-key 800 meters in London. Webb underwent surgery on his achilles tendon earlier this year. He recently moved to Oregon to train with coach Alberto Salazar and the Oregon Track Club Elite.
