Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12–($140)

2010 Fall Running Shoe Review Homepage

saucony.com

This cushioned stability trainer impresses the test team with its “runability” for such a structured and stable shoe. The fit conforms to most everyone’s needs, being wide enough in the forefoot yet snug in the heel and midfoot thanks to a very functional lacing system and conforming tongue, arch and instep. The midsole rigidity is a slight issue but dissipates after a few hours’ break-in period. Overall the Hurricane is a solid (and relatively hefty) structured ride that absorbs impact and transitions gracefully enough to make it well suited for those who need more substantial underfoot protection.
