McMillan Elite Takes USATF Club XC Championships

Both of Coach Greg McMillan’s squads won the men’s and women’s races.

It was a good day for Team McMillan Elite at the 2010 USATF National Club Cross-Country Championships on Saturday. At the cross-country race, which was held at McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte, N.C., both the men and the women from McMillan Elite were victorious. This was the second title for the club’s men and the first for the women.

According to a USATF press release posted on, “The USATF National Club Cross Country Championships featured America’s top post-collegiate club teams from across the United States vying for top honors and bragging rights as the nation’s top cross-country team.” More than 1,100 athletes competed in the race. The men’s race measured 10K, while the woman’s was 6K.

A total prize purse of $30,000 was offered.

Rene Metivier Baillie won the women’s individual title, while Aaron Braun won the men’s race. In the master’s division, Lyudmila Vasilyeva crossed the line first for the women. Pete Magill won the men’s master’s race.
