Deena Kastor Gives Birth To Baby Girl

Olympic bronze medalist and her husband Andrew welcome Piper Bloom into the world.

Deena Kastor, Olympic Marathon bronze medalist and American record holder in the marathon and half marathon, gave birth to a baby girl on Monday night, according to a post on Twitter by her Mammoth Track Club teammate, Josh Cox.

“HUGE CONGRATS to Andrew & Deena Kastor on the birth of a healthy baby girl! Piper Bloom Kastor, 6lbs 5oz. 19in! WOW!” Cox Tweeted just after 9 p.m. PST on Monday.

This is the first child for Kastor and her husband Andrew. Kastor, who turned 38 last week, will be aiming to make her fourth Olympic team in 2012.
