University of Oregon headman denies he’s a finalist for USATF position.

Vin Lananna, the man in charge of the cross country and track and field programs at the University of Oregon, said on Monday that the rumors aren’t true: he is not a finalist for the ousted Doug’s Logan’s CEO position at USA Track & Field.

“I am not a finalist for the USATF job,” Lananna told the Register-Guard this week. “I have the greatest job in track and field, maybe in the world.” Lananna, 57, is in his sixth season at Oregon.

Prior to arriving in Eugene Lananna was the athletic director at Division 3 Oberlin College and has also coached at Stanford and Dartmouth.
