Shalane Flanagan was named 2010 Runner of the Year at the Endurance LIVE Awards show earlier this year after collecting U.S. titles in cross country, the half marathon, and marathon. The Olympic bronze medalist at 10,000 meters in Beijing has been untouchable in the U.S., finishing second overall behind Kenyan Edna Kiplagat in her marathon debut last fall at New York and dominating the U.S. Cross Country Championships last month in San Diego. She is currently prepping for the World Cross Country Championships to be held in Spain on March 20, and is eyeing a return to the track this summer where she hopes to reclaim her American Record in the 5,000 meters and medal at the World Championships later this summer. We caught up with Flanagan recently on The Competitors Radio Show to talk about her recent accomplishments, current training and future goals.
