Chris Solinsky returns to the track where he broke the American Record last year.

Oregon has decided not to send runners to this week’s Penn Relays. Instead, a strong contingent will be competing at the Peyton Jordan Cardinal Invite at Stanford University this Sunday.

Headlining the group is American 10,000 record holder Chris Solinsky who runs for the Oregon Track Club and is coached by Jerry Schumacher who had coached him at the University of Wisconsin.

Solinksy shattered it last year when he clocked 26:59 at the meet last year. Other headliners are Olympic bronze medalist Shalane Flanagan and her training partner Lisa Koll. Geena Gall will compete in the 1,500m. Last weekend at the Oregon Relays, Gall ran the 800m in 2:02.04, which was a top U.S. time for the year. In addition, Oregon Track Club’s Sally Kipyego will race the 10,000m. She ran 4:06.23 for the 1500m at the relays–a world-leading mark for the year.

From the University of Oregon competing in the 1,500m are A.J. Acosta and Matt Centrowitz, while Luke Puskedra will toe the line in the 10,000.
