This refreshing, delicious tropical fruit smoothie makes the perfect portable post-run breakfast. Boosted with omega-3s, fiber, tons of vitamins and antioxidants, protein and carbs for topping off your glycogen stores, this thick beverage will aid in recovery and keep you focused on the day ahead.

Omega-3 Mango-rific Smoothie

1 cup 100-percent juice blend (I used a mango peach juice)

2 ripe mangos, peeled and chopped—I like to squeeze the seeds over the blender to make sure I get all the juice

1 ripe kiwi, peeled and cut into chunks

2 tablespoons flaxseed

2 tablespoons toasted wheat germ

1 cup organic low-fat or nonfat plain yogurt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 heaping scoop vanilla whey protein powder

ice, if desired

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
