Toeing the starting line on race day is nerve wracking. Finding your way in a sea of thousands of runners, a usually far too early start time and the butterflies of wondering if and how fast you’ll make it to the finish line can be a little overwhelming. To ease the tension, Competitor talked with Santa Barbara International Marathon co-race director Rusty Snow to get his take on the most important tips to remember on race day. Take these racing rules to heart and all you’ll have left to worry about on race morning is whether or not your shoes are on the right feet.
