There’s nothing worse than buying an armband only to find out it doesn’t fit your cell phone or MP3 player once you take it home. Or having to buy a new armband each time you buy a new device.

The ArmPocket is designed to be a universal armband to fit large touchscreen devices as big as the original iPhone or Blackberry Bold. It has a large display window with two interior pockets perfect for hiding one car and one house key. There was plenty of room to store my Blackberry, two keys and my driver’s license.

It’s made from an organic bamboo rayon fabric that absorbed much of the sweat but didn’t keep the moisture away from inside since the display window had fogged up after a workout or run. You’ll need to clean the window every now and then.

The memory foam-like padding on the back was comfortable and the adjustable Velcro strap prevented the band from sliding; however, no matter how tight I fastened the strap, it left an imprint of the seams on my arm.

The ArmPocket collection is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team, Mark Morgan and Jyette Nielsen, who needed a sweatproof case to securely keep their iPods and cell phones in during their runs. Other models in the collection include the Xtreme i-30 and Aero i-30.

The verdict: A little on the bulky side but the universal size and ample storage room will save you the trouble of having to buy a new armband each time you buy a new phone or MP3 player.
