2. Stretch Before You Run

“It’s a myth because your muscles are not warm yet and it’s very important for your muscles to be warmed up before stretching,” explained Austin-based triathlon coach Hollie Kenney. “By increasing the temperature of your muscles, they will be more flexible and you can loosen up your muscles and soft tissue as much as 20 percent. Cold muscles are at the highest risk for injury, which can happen while/from stretching.”
