The first of three upcoming competitions takes place in June.
Best Buddies, a nonprofit founded by Anthony Shriver in 1989 that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has three upcoming competitions on the race docket.
Beginning on June 2, cyclists and runners can be a part of Team Tom Brady at the Best Buddies Challenge in Hyannis Port, in Cape Cod, Mass. The weekend of fundraising festivities supports those on Team Tom Brady who achieve specific fundraising marks can win prizes such as signed football jerseys or the chance to play in a private football game on June 1 with Brady.
On Sept. 8 the Best Buddies Challenge moves to the West Coast at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Calif. The event is hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wife, Maria Shriver, and features a similar schedule of run and bike events and a post-race concert at Hearst Ranch.
Back to the East Coast in October, those in the Washington, DC, area can cycle or run on the 20th in Audi Best Buddies Challenge.
Participants will be able to choose from a selection of biking and running events that includes bike rides of 100, 50 or 20 miles and 5K or 3K runs.
