The ultrarunning icon was reported missing on Wednesday morning.

Micah True, aka “Caballo Blanco” of “Born To Run” fame, was found dead in New Mexico on Saturday night. He was 58.

True, an experienced ultrarunner, was last seen heading out for a run on Tuesday morning at the Gila Wilderness Lodge in Gila, N.M. He was reported missing by the lodge’s owners on Wednesday morning.

Search teams had been looking for True over the last four days. His body was found by a friend near Woody’s Corral, according to Incident Commander Tom Bemis. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

“It’s too early to say, there was nothing obvious,” Bemis said.
