Haile Gebrselassie ran the last track race of his career over the weekend, finishing seventh in the 10,000 meters at Hengelo, running 27:20.

Gebrselassie was the sixth Ethiopian across the line in the race that served as his country's Olympic Trials.

Gebrselassie remained in contention until the final lap.

American Dathan Ritzenhein, who was aiming to run under the Olympic "A" standard of 27:45, crossed the finish line in 27:50.

Gebrselassie said that he will focus only on half marathons and marathons in the future.

Sileshi Sihine on his way to a third place, 27:12 finish.

Unseasonably warm temperatures had a slowing effect on many runner's finishing times, including Ritzenhein.
