USATF Increases Outdoor Prize Money

USA Track & Field announced Tuesday a $303,000 increase in prize money to be awarded at its 2013 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The increase for this year’s USA Outdoor Championships, which are scheduled for June 20-23 in Des Moines, Iowa, marks a significant increase from past outdoor championships and Olympic Trials. It includes an increase of $7,500 in earnings per event and an additional $3,000 for event champions. Overall, the increase marks a 59 percent increase in prize money over previous years.
