Double-Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah is one of them.
On June 30, some of the best running talent in the world will assemble for the British Athletics Birmingham Grand Prix.
A total of six Olympic champions from last year’s Summer Games will be there. One of those athletes is British distance-running ace Mo Farah, who will toe the line in the 5000m event.
“[Last year] was an incredible year for me and I’m really looking forward to competing in front of a home crowd in the UK again,” said Farah, who is coached by Alberto Salazar and currently trains in Oregon. “This is another big year with the World Championships just around the corner and it’s always good to perform well in Birmingham.
“I have great memories of competing at the Alexander Stadium and it was great to celebrate my Olympic success with a win there last year. I’ll be looking to run well there again and put on another good show for the fans.”
