She is doing it for charity.
According to ET News, former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson will trade in her bikini for running attire this November.
Apparently, Anderson will run the ING New York City Marathon in support of the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, actor Sean Penn’s charity that he founded following the devastating earthquakes in Haiti back in 2010.
“I’ve been a supporter of JP from early stages,” Anderson said. “In last few years I have become more involved. If you go to Haiti, you fall in love. It is intoxicating. I have worked to defend animal rights and environmental warriors for decades. They all cross paths. Haiti has been mostly deforested sadly, which affects wildlife and people. It is vulnerable. I really believe Haiti might be the heart of the world.”
As part of the campaign, Anderson will accompany five Haitian elite runners who have never visited the United States.
“I’ve never taken on a physical challenge like this but I am willing to do something to show my dedication,” Anderson admitted.
