The Clinton Half Marathon is doing just that.

Here’s something for running spectators of the world: According to the Clinton Herald, race organizers are offering groups that line the course of the annual Clinton Half Marathon in Iowa with a chance to win some treasure.

The specific prize is $100 in River City City gold and in order to be eligible to win, groups have to post photos of the act on the race’s Facebook page.

The group that gets the most “likes” will win the gold.

“The winner could be a school group, a charity, or just a fun group of friends,” said Lori Freudenberg, a Clinton Half Marathon committee member. “We hope people will get creative.”

On Sept. 12, race organizers will announce the lucky winner.

The Clinton Half Marathon takes place Sept. 8 at 7:30 a.m. A 10K and 5K will also be held in conjunction with the 13.1-mile event.
