The race series now has seven events since debuting this year.
Ragnar Trail Relays presented by Salomon announced a new race on Wednesday that will take place next April.
The event, called Ragnar Trail Atlanta, is the first Ragnar race in the state of Georgia and is slated for April 4-5.
According to a press release, the two-day, overnight team relay starts at midday on Friday and culminates Saturday afternoon. The Georgia International House Park, less than an hour outside of Atlanta, will host the event.
Teams will be comprised of eight runners. While one runner is running on one of three different trails to be used in the park, his or her teammates will be at the Ragnar Village — where they will set up camp and “enjoy food, music and campfires while cheering on their teammates,” according to the release.
The Atlanta Track Club has partnered with Ragnar to put on the event.
“As an organization, Ragnar believes it is incredibly important to support organizations that are committed to making the world more active, especially those that work with children,” said Chris Infurchia, Chief Executive Officer at Ragnar Events LLC. “We’re thrilled to partner with Atlanta Track Club and help people make unforgettable memories running and camping together, while supporting such a worthy cause.”
Through the partnership, Ragnar has pledged $100 to Kilometer Kids, a running charity for children, for each team that registers for the event using an Atlanta Track Club promotional code.
There are now seven events on the Ragnar Trail schedule since the series was introduced this year. Registration for the Atlanta race is now open at ragnartrail.com.
