Several top finishers were from the Beaver State.

Running USA has some recent race results from the West Coast. Last weekend, Sergio Reyes and Zita Bauge won the men’s and women’s races at the annual Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon in Willamette Valley.

Reyes’ time was 1:07:49, while Bauge clocked a 1:20:14 for her win.

Second place in the men’s race went to Mario Mendoza of Bend, Ore. The third-place male finisher was Michael Nicks.

“I want to congratulate all of the finishers today. You all deserve to be up here on the awards stage today,” said Reyes. “I was challenged but loved every mile of it, what a beautiful course.”

Bauge is a native Hungarian who now resides in Oregon. The other two podium finishers also went to Oregonians — Eva Vail and Carrie Heineck, who took second and third.

Over 2,000 runners from 42 states took part in the 13.1-mile race.

“We had everything we had hoped for today,” remarked race director Matt Dockstader. “It was a competitive race, perfect weather, and we all had lots of fun at the post-race festival. It was an event everyone can enjoy, we couldn’t be prouder of the final result.”
