When cold weather came calling and runners wanted to keep running, wool was a smart choice. But styling, like the pictured sweater, wasn’t always sport friendly (seam chafing, ouch!) and wool, especially wet wool, felt itchy against the skin.

Cotton became another popular option, but runners quickly discovered that the initial feeling of cotton coziness turned cold when cotton got wet from sweat and the elements.
