The top male and female runners scheduled to compete in Sunday’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Lisbon marathon met with the press on Friday in the Portuguese capital. Ethiopians Dadi Yami and Deribe Merga, the latter being the 2009 Boston Marathon champion, lead the men’s field with personal bests of 2:05:41 and 2:06:38. For the women, Kenyans Helena and Agnes Kiprop lead the charge. Their top times in the marathon are 2:23:37 and 2:23:43. The half-marathon will be another star-studded affair, with multiple world and marathon champions in the field. More than 22,500 runners will start both races.
