The event is a fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness programs.
Bars, drinking, and running may not sound like they go together, but that’s not the case at the 2nd annual Treadmill Marathon this weekend.
The event, a team marathon, will be held in Busby’s East, a Los Angeles-area bar.
According to a report posted by NBC Los Angeles, teams of 2-26 will be running inside the bar on machines provided by Global Fitness for a good cause: raising funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) programs.
One of the event’s organizers is the Santa Monica Sports Club. Its president, Blake Dirickson, will run the entire 26.2 miles solo.
Those not wanting to run, can show up and root for the treadmill runners by imbibing on food and drinks at the bar.
NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization that’s dedicated to improving lives of all of those affected by mental illness.
