Matt Tegenkamp is currently the man to beat on Nov. 17.

On Nov. 17, some of the best American runners will head to historic Alexandria, Va. in order to compete at the .US National Road Racing Championships.

At the top of the startlist for the elite 12K division is Matt Tegenkamp. The Olympian has enjoyed a phenomenal year on the roads, winning the 2013 U.S. 10K and 20K Championships.

Tegenkamp is currently in first place in the USARC (U.S. Running Circuit) with 60 points. Behind Tegenkamp in points is Shadrack Biwott (52 points). Josphat Boit is in third with 50 points.

The .US Road Racing Championships is the third and final stop in the USA Running Circuit, with the top 10 finishers earning triple points towards the USARC overall standings. This means that Tegenkamp’s lead is far from commanding.

Another runner to watch in the race is Nick Arciniaga, who has amassed 32 points and was victorious at the 2013 U.S. Marathon
