It was a record-setting day for American Kim Conley at the New Balance Games, as the 2012 Olympian broke the facility record in the women’s mile with a time of 4:24.54. “My goal was 4:24,” said the 5000m runner at the New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York. “I didn’t know that this was the race I was going to do it.”
The top story on the men’s side was Duane Solomon’s 600m victory over American record holder Erik Sowinski, 1:16.67 to 1:16.78. British runner Lee Emanuel narrowly beat American Garrett Heath in the men’s mile, clocking a 3:54.30 to Heath’s 3:54.59.
