Day 27: Sunday, February 2

Mario Fraioli, Senior Editor: It rained in the Bay Area! We’ve lived here a month and haven’t seen so much as a drop of precipitation. I got out around 11 for an easy 46-minute recovery run on the bike path across the street from our place. There was hardly anyone out walking, running or riding their bikes today because of the wet weather, and I enjoyed falling into a quiet, meditative, uninterrupted rhythm.

Caitlyn Pilkington, Associate Editor: I ran a very short, slow 4 miles to test the foot out. Inspired by my disappointing run (if that’s possible), I cleaned out all the workout clothes from my car and will be replenishing swim materials for the pool this week.

Jason Devaney, Associate Web Editor: I traveled to Connecticut to work for NBC during the Olympics and got in around 8 PM. At 9:30, I realized I hadn’t done any exercise yet! It wasn’t 30 minutes, but I did some push-ups (standard, staggered), planks, side raises, and wall sits. It was better than nothing.

Allison Pattillo, Contributing Editor: Ran in a 5K snowshoe race today! All of the new snow (40″ in Beaver Creek) made for some slow going, but it was a beautiful day and a great course. My daughter edged me out at the finish line, yet I still managed to place second in my age group!
