Boston is one of the greatest running cities in the world, and its residents have shown increased pride, resiliency and sense of community since the events of the 2013 Boston Marathon.
“It’s a resilient group, it really is,” says William Evans, Boston Police Commissioner and 18-time Boston Marathon finisher. “Runners, they run through the heat, they run through the cold. Ya know, people see us out there in the pouring rain and think we’re nuts and whatnot. But we can get through this and the running community will come back stronger this year, it really will.”
In this video, we highlight the spirit of the Boston running community, speaking with local icons such as Dave McGillivray and Bill Rodgers, as well as a few of the thousands of runners who call Boston home.
