Video: Boston Strong

The motto “Boston Strong” has taken on a special and powerful meaning to the city of Boston and the runners who call it home. In this video, Boston-area runners discuss “Boston Strong” and how the city rallied after the tragic events of the 2013 Boston Marathon.

“The whole Boston community, the whole country, everybody wanted to rally around the whole motto of ‘Boston Strong,’” says Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, an 18-time Boston Marathon finisher. “And we got so much support all around the country, we got so much support in foreign countries. People really rallied around what happened in Boston. Runners are a special breed. There’s a special connection and I think the running community really came out strong and felt the pain Boston was going through that day.”
