The British distance runner owns the course record set in 2010.
Following his 26.2-mile debut in the Virgin Money London Marathon last month, British runner Mo Farah will next race at the Bupa London 10,000 on May 25.
Farah has won the race the last five years and is targeting another victory this year.
He’s likely to face a strong challenge from Chris Thompson, who finished second to Farah in the 10,000m at the 2010 European Championships. Last month’s London Marathon was the first race of that distance for both men; Farah finished eighth in 2:08:21, while Thompson clocked a 2:11:19 and placed 11th.
Farah set the Bupa London 10,000 course record (and British record at the distance) of 27:44 in 2010. His winning time last year was 29:13.
Farah will serve as the official starter for the senior men’s and women’s races at the Bupa Westminster Mile the day before the 10K. There will 30 one-mile races that day as part of the event.
The Bupa London 10,000 is put on by the London Marathon.
