Photos: Brooks 100-Year Anniversary Celebration

This past weekend, Brooks Sports Inc. invited its employees, key retailers and media partners from around the world to help them celebrate their 100-year anniversary and catch an early glimpse of their new, soon-to-be-opened headquarters in Seattle’s vibrant Fremont area.

During his keynote address on Friday, Brooks CEO Jim Weber spoke of the company’s ongoing commitment to runners and creating top-of-the-line footwear and apparel while fostering an active, inspiring culture amongst his employees. He also reported an unprecedented $500 million in global revenue from April 2013 through April 2014, putting Brooks on track to be a $1 billion company by the year 2020. “We knew a commitment to putting the runner first and creating both fantastic product and memorable experiences for them was a big idea, a billion dollar idea,” Weber said in his speech. “We are here because the brand is resonating with runners, and we have incredible retail partners who are out there with us inspiring runners day-in, day-out.”

Aside from taking part in celebratory festivities, invited attendees were able to attend two breakout sessions: the first on the future of competitive running, featuring Brooks athlete Nick Symmonds, Hansons-Brooks coach Keith Hanson, Brooks Beast coach Danny Mackey and board member Robbie Bach; the second exploring the future of shopping behavior amongst consumers. Others events included a relay race on Friday morning and a sneak peek at Spring 2015 footwear and apparel.
