The 41st edition of the Western States 100 kicks off this Saturday at 5 AM PST in Squaw Valley, Calif., as more than 360 runners representing 26 countries will take part in the grueling 100-mile trail race, which ends in Auburn, Calif.
The course, which follows the historic Western States Trail, climbs more than 18,000 feet and descends nearly 23,000 feet, and features equal parts runnable trail and highly technical terrain.
