34th Annual NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile

It was an American sweep at the Fifth Avenue Mile over the weekend in New York. Jenny Simpson punctuated her fantastic season by winning the women’s race in 4:19.4, leading wire-to-wire for her third victory in the event. On the men’s side Jordan McNamara won his first Fifth Avenue Mile in a time of 3:51, winning in a photo finish over Garrett Heath, Paul Robinson and Augustine Choge.

In all, more than 5,600 runners participated in the race, which started at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and finished 20 blocks south at the Grand Army Plaza in Manhattan. Here are photos from the race, from PhotoRun.net:
